Mar. 4th, 2008 11:12 amYesterday. ....
Been listening to some Easy Tempo compilations and they are all so fine and funky easy jazzy grooves and Ihave about ffive of them already.
.. must get some more as they are always in limited supply.
Anyway, after a morning of doing some paperwork and then a free £25 per head meal with a work colleage at La Strada (she was doing a mystery shop there) i travelled to London on a cheap £6 return ticket to do some shops and vist Bongolia (aka Michael) to pick up my bunch from his freebie giveaway.
First some nice finds in the city -

Introducing George Freeman with Charlie Earland Sitting In (Giant Step)
Doug Carn - Adam's Apple (Black Jazz) - a reissue
all for three quid each
and two singles at a quid each -

These are the ones that Michael reserved for me which i picked up earlier this evening -
Brian Fahey and His Orchestra - Stereo Explosion (EMI Starline) - nice easy cheese
Elektrik Cokernut - Go-Moog! (MFP) - mad groovy "Jungle Juice"
Graham Walker Sound - Famous TV Themes (Saga) with "Mission Impossible" etc. and a rare beast of a record
Len Hunter Collection - Swing Gently With Strauss (Contour) - toptally funky classical with fender Rhodes piano!!!
Paraffin Jack Flash Limited - Movers'n'Groovers (Pye) - another rare beasty and fine beaty stuff it is too.
Peggy Lee - Is That All There Is? (Capitol) - smooth as silk, and "Don't Smoke In bed" is gorgious
Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band - Gorilla (Sunset ) - crazy Dadaist pop group bar none
plus a load of extra albums i didn't expect for me to choose from his pile on the carpet , totalling 12 extra ones including the following goodies -
Hamilton Bohannon - Keep On Dancing (Dakar LP) - big on the funk here
Hamilton Bohannon - Phase II (Mercury LP) - bit more disco but still funky
