Mar. 16th, 2008 12:30 pm A busy day of work. yesterday
Two mystery shops (Maplins and Charles Street bar/ and cafe) and then exit surveys at Wickes in Hove and in the evening a PRS DJ visit to a pub in Burgess Hill.
The PRS visit wasn't brilliant as the DJ only played CDs of current samey R&B stuff and old eighties and seventies pop (like Abba - yuk!). The only decent thing about the Jacobs Post is that they have real ale there.
Anyway a nice package in the post came today from VG+ coleague John Stapleton with the two Tom Jones LPs i mentioned earlier and three other albums. Also, after visiting Maplins, i popped across the road to the Heart Foundation shop and got another six albums for a total price of £1 ,including a John Willams album .
Through the post -
Tom Jones - The Body and Soul of ... (Decca LP 1973) - great version of "Ain't No Sunshine"
Tom Jones - Something 'Bout You baby I Like (Decca 1974) - superb funky "Right Place Wrong Time"
Wilie Colon - Contrabando (Sonografica LP 1986)
Various - A Glorious Musical Review (Morgan Records LP 1968)
Franck Pourcel and his French Strings - Les Bxter's La Femme (Capitol)
From the chazzer
Judy Collins - Whales and Nightingales (Elektra LP)
Dean Martin - Swingin' Down Yonder (MFP LP)
John Williams - Bridges (Lots LP) - feat that funky bach number "From The Top"
Mike Harding - Rooted! (Moonraker LP)
Tim Moore - Tim Moore (Mooncrest LP) - "Aviation Man" is quite funky
Edmundo Ros - The Lattin World of.. Vol 2 (Decca LP)
look forward to next batch.
