AA quiet birthday and only a solitary card from L as well - so bugger work i thiught ,and had a few beers down my local ,The Evening Star and then do my PRS job to Worthing in the evening to vist Bar Release for a DJ survey.
Stopped off to have a Chinese meal and got fully stuffed.
Musically,the music at Bar Release this evening was modern R&B,which tends to go in one ear and out the other without registering with me. Yep,boring indeed. Left early to get back to watch the next installment of "Heroes" on BBC 3.
Some modern R&B stuff i like,don't get me wrong, but most does sound very samey and formulaic.. At least groups like Arrested Development and the Fugess gave R&B a different twist.. I guess this is one reason i am tracing the older sounds and back to the seventies and sixties for my grooves.
Anyway listening to Bob Dylan's superb radio programme on Radio2 as i write and some great music he is playing too.
Oh and if you should ask i am now 52.
