Longish day in Burgess Hill, and first of all in London, visiting the HQ of HPI Research at Smithfield market area, and then walking down towards Brick lane area to see the new Rough Trade shop and visit other haunts that side of the city. However,Beats Working no longer exists as far as i can tell, which is a shame as in the past had good deals there.
The new look Rough Trade, formerly of Covent garden,is spaceous and cool looking. Bought an Lp and a bag for life from there as well as doing some free web surfing. The album was "Music De Wolfe Vol.1" which had been on my list for awhile.
After visiting Rough Trade i took a corner round to Hanbury Road, and saw another rekkie shop which i have not been to before. They mostly do reggae but had some nice cheesy groovey stuff too. Bought two abums for a tenner - Various Artists "Irma Cocktail lounge Vol.1" (la Douce 2xLP) and best of all,Ella Fitzgerald's "Things Aren't What They used To Be" (Reprise), with great funky versions of "Sunny" and "Mas Que Nada". Worth visiting again, but cannot remeber the name of the shop.
Then off to Burgess Hill to do a boring Tesco survey.
