A friend of mine is moving house in a few days time and gave me some records , about 20 in all, all mostly chart stuff from late 70s to early 80s,lke Michael Jackson,Daryl Hall and John Oates,Mike McDonald , well need i go on. At least no Phil Collins in the batch.   These will be sold on or exchanged at MVE the next time i visit.

However one album did stand out with a couple of good country funk stuff on it -

Elvin Bishop "Struttin'My Stuff (Capricorn 1975)

The funkiest tracks being the title track and "Slick Titty Boom". It is a surprisingly good album overall

The rest today are singles from a real record shop for £2 to £3 each.

Denise La Salle - Now Run and Tell That (Janus)
Nice picture sleeve

Joy Lovely - In Orbit (Chess 1967)
Classic Northen soul dancer.

The Manhattans -Manhattans Stomp (Carnival 1967)
Another Northern soul groover

Undisputed Truth "What It Is / California Soul (Motown 1971)
Funky Whitfield production and a cool version of "California Soul" from 67 on the flip.

Esther Phillips - Let Me In Your Life / Use Me (Kudu 1973)
Two excellent versions of Bill Withers numbers.

The charity shops down here won't have any of these singles and occasionally you might see them at the Sunday boot fair. But lack of time sometimes prevents me from deep digging these days.
