A trip to Guildford to do a survey and at last a chance to go to Ben's Collector's Records (Tungate) which i now know that Arthur (the Sunday boot fair guy i buy loads off) and Al (from Across The Tracks shop) also frequent his emporium, and are both surprised to see how much jazz Ben actually gets. As he said to me he is known for it,and hence, customers unload thier unwanted jazz albums with him.

He certainly has alot and i wished i had more time to peruse. Worth a dedicated visit though.

I bought the following -

Ted Heath and His Music - Pow! (Decca Phase 4)
Ted Heath and His Music -  Fever (Decca Phase 4)
Count Basie - Afrique (dr.Jazz)
Woody Herrman - Thundering Herd (Fantasy)
National Youth Jazz Orchestra - The Sherwood Forest Suite ((HYJO Records)
John Coltrane - Coltrane Plays The Blues (Atlantic)
Terry snyder and The All Stars - Presuasive percussion (Command)

Prices were very reasonable with the Coltrane being £6, the rest were either a quid or two quid. He also has some nice Polish jaz albums which although more pricey seemed quite mouthwatering (but currently out of my limited budget for the time being).
