Got up with more zippo this morning than yesterday and went to Worthing. Now i seem to have answered my own question about Music Mania. The shop is always closed on a Wednesday, and once again, disappointed i could not get my mits on any cheap vinyl. Oxfam and all the other chazzers in Worthing had nothing to float my boat, and thus i had to endure a slow boring day inside a very quiet Orange shop doing a survey and feeling that i could be at home listening to something or doing a mix. Yeah,a bummer!
Luckily i took a book to read with me. Art and poetry books being the reading material of the moment. I recently purchased an anthology of Philip Larkin's poetry which i have been dipping into.I rank him as one of my favourite poets alongside Betjeman and DH Lawrence. My interest in poetry stems back to a course i did way back in the late seventies concerning the Romantic poets (Keats,Wordsworth etc) and reading the beat poets thereafter from a recommendation from a girlfriend i was dating at the time.
The next time i am in London i shall peruse the shelves of the MVE bookshop in Notting Hil for cheap decent poetry books.
