Useful trip to London today over at the Notting Hill MVE, Got a fair deal with the exchanges i made, and i suppose it could have been better, but that,i guess, is due to the credit crunch. Notting Hill end of London was not as busy as i expected and managed to peruse all the vinyl available in relative comfort.
I did pop into all the main branches there, except for the classical shop, just to see what else might entice ,me.Primarily though it was the vinyl i was after..
Anyway this iis what i got in exchange -
Herbie Mann - Memphis Underground (Atlantic LP)
Jon Lucien - Listen Love (Mercury LP)
The Ebony Rhythm Band - Soul Heart Transplant : The Lamp Sessions (Now Again 2xLP)
The Usurpators - First Impressions (Seventies LP)
then some sleeveless albums at 50 pence each -
Billy Paul - 360 Degrees of Billy Paul (Pjil.Int LP)
Herbie Mann - Salute To The Flute (Fontana LP)
Gloria Lynne - I'm So In Love (DJM LP)
and some singles -
The Clarence Mack Express - Runaway Train (Electricraft 2004)
Warm Sounds - Birds And Bees (Deram 1967)
Three Dog Night - Eli's Coming (Stateside 1969)
After geting back to Brighton i popped into the Evening Star for a couple of pints and met my mate (The hat) who gave me a tenners worth of ganja to smoke over the festive period. Also my other mate,Ville (aka DJ Åbo) arrive with a mate and we chatted. he is going over to Belgium for Xmas from tomorrow and hence was in the pub to try some of these strange Belgian brews.
