PC Problem

Today i took the poorly defunct desktop PC to get a quote and hope that it doesn't cost too much to repair it. I feel that the cause of the problem is the hard drive and hence Windows might need rebooting, I could not get past the boot stage on Sunday. Luckily most of my important files and programs , including all those music mp3 files and the music database are on an external 620 GB hard drive. Thia was a Western Digital unit bought from Maplins and hence a godsend in the current situation. I would not want to type in 4000 entries again.

Just one cheap LP found today -

The Best of  Ramsey Lewis (Cadet) for £3

I was hoping to get mixes done this week so may have to connect the decks and mixer to the laptop.

These things are set to try us!

From a BBC news item the humble 45 single is 60 years old and thankfully is still going strong due to indie and cool bands wanting to release music on the format with eager younger buyers. I occasionally buy a contemporary 45,  the last, ones being by Holy  Fuck,Gravenhurst and Vetivier.

Also there is a wicked site dedicated to the 45 single which i recommend a visit -

http://www.45cat.com/

I hope it remains as a viable format for many years to come.

First FTLC of the new year. Just the three of us , GC,Lesley and me down at La Tasca for the lunch and it only cost us a fiver each as they are doing a Lunch for 2 Deal for a tenner.

Good news too - the desktop PC hard drive is fine. It was the cooling fan and motor that needed replacing plus the NVIDA graphic chip set and the memory is being tripled to allowing the hard drive to be used less and cache meory to be used more if you get my drift. Will cost £80 in all!
