Vinyl Goodies
Jan. 10th, 2009 09:01 pmYesterday picked up a few more of these fine latino albums from Borderline's sale - some nice tasty items as well and no more than a fiver.
One of them was not a latino album but at only three quid looked interesting -
The Last Nikel - The Last Nikel (Mainstream LP)
The New Swing Sextet - the Exposive .. (Cotique LP)
Milton Zapata - Viva Zapata (Speed LP)
Mauricio Smith - Bitter Acid (Mainstream LP)
and from the newly refurbished Rare Kind Records -
Judy Roberts - The Other World (Inner City Records LP)
and also only three quid. Well it is a credit crunch!
Today i picked up the recordings made of one Barry geezer from Across The Tracks. Barry is a customer who has been going to the shop for years and unbeknown to him, secretly taped by the staff. Why? Well he comes out with the most hilarious stories, wrong knowledge and gaffs you could ever imagine. There is even a little bit of me on the CD somewhere in the background. Not heard the CD yet but will do so whilst reading in bed tonight.
Exchaned some CDs for an LP at Acroos The Tracks as well -
Dennis Coffey - Goin' For Myself (Sussex LP 1972)
A fine funky album with the heavy funk of "Taurus" being a winner. Well it is my zodiac sign!
