Monday night did a PRS  down at The Latest Music Bar in Manchester Street (use to be Joogleberries).Three live bands of which the best was the first band on - Brighton's own DROPTEAR MODELMAKER whose music is somewhere between that post rock and jungle jazz ambient electronica. Shades of Tortoise,Chicago Underground Duo,Jaga Jazzist and Kreidler seems to be the influences in their music. They laid a hypnotic groove which i found mesmerising.Highly recommended.

Some new and some old listens today after finishing a job in Patcham.

First off -

Steve Hackett "Voyage of The Acolyte" (Charisma 1975 LP)

Bought today for £3 from the Harat Foundation chazze in London Roadr. A really nice symphonic prog album by ex-,member of , ahem, Genesis. Much better than his former band members albums. One to bring to the next Prognosis.

Steve Hillage "L" (Virgin 1976 LP)

Another prog oldie with a wonderful version of Donovan's "Hurdy Gurdy Man" complete with an original 15th cnetruy hurdy gurdy!

Jean-Luc Ponty " Enigmatic Ocean" (Atlantic  1977 LP)

Top notch jazz fusion and very funky in places with some fine paasages. Ace!

Cheque from EMS in the post for the pub job this morning.
