Demise of Prognosis

Discogs did trail off a bit last week but it seems to be back on again with sales coming from various parts of the world including the Czech Republic. Now with 500 items for sale and still adding sales could only go up!

Good news and not so good on the DJ front. Sunday's Prognosis was the last at the Great Eastern pub as the management (or bloody accountants) told the pub to cut down on expenses. However,Ben is looking for a new site and a bigger space to do the sets and he shall inform as to his success or not. Hopefully the former. Also he asked me for a bit of help as he is doing two gigs this coming Saturday and they overlap with two hours being at the earlie gig and not being able to start the second gig. So he asked me to fill in for two hours at the second gig before he arrives and will pay me £20 or £25 depending on what time he arrives at the second gig. Pyschic soul music with fuzzy funk will be the order of the night he informs me. Hairy music freakout stuff then!

As for my first gig at Mrs.Fitzherberts (April 16th)  i shall call it Pyschic Soul Freak In! That covers the kind of pysche,progressive and funk sounds i will mash up in the mix.

Hare and Hounds on My Mission List

Today i gave the Hare and Hounds pub in London Road a mix CD and a covering letter as they are now under new management. This is another possible venue for my DJing sessions. It is on the corner opposite Circus Circus and on the same side as the Duke Of Yorks cinema. The new manager is called Leo.

Mike from the Quadrant is having his last day on Thursday night  when i am doing my Dj set. He is in the market for a new job. i hate to see him go 'cause he is such a nice guy.

Picked up for a quid today "The Sound of Great Music" comp (MPS / BASF Records  LP 1974) which has a storming version of Weldon Irvine's "Mr. Clean" by Rhythm Combination And Brass". Very funky jazzy tune!
