Yo,there is so much hyperbole and blunderbuss surounding so called "discoveries" in the music biz. Back in the bad eighties it was Rick Astley,in the 90s it was... well you get the gist .. and then came X Factor and all those other "versions" of it.It is detrimental to real music making and discoveries such as Anthony and The johnsons,Duffy (nurtured by Rough Trade from that superb documentary on BBC 4). and others too many to mention here.
Bought a couple of LPs from a lockup in New Dorset Road (at the back of us) this morning. Tini Yuro LP and a Peddlers LP,both which are in okay condition. Humbugs. Side 2 of the Peddlers "Three in A Cell" is very crackly - still at 75p each it's not too bad and will okay to play at gigs.
Anyway,Discog sales are bacxk up to the normal level so at least thta is something to smile about.
