Festive Holiday Ending
Jan. 3rd, 2010 07:50 amFrIday was a nice sunny day but very cold. Had my gig at the Northern Lights but it was such a quiet eveving that we finished at midnight.
Also that day as i walked down to London Road to go and get some ihousehold items from the 99p shop i used my debit card in a Halifax ATM machine to draw some cash. Damn machine went faulty on me and retained my card and i had less than a quid in my wallet.
Saturday morning,first thing i did was to nip into the Halifax and get my card. They was closed the previous day so luckily i had my money from the gig to see me through til the morning.
Xmas was quiet spent mostly at home and going to the pub. Monday L and I went over to visit my brother and his wife for cold meats and booze. Stayed from about 3pm til 11pm. It was a goiod evening. Their two cats made a fuss of us. It reminded me of Tiggy who died over a year ago. I still would like to have a cat again. Perhaps we might this year.
Watched a DVD of "Tinker Tailor Soldiier Spy" over the Xmas period. This was BBC's great dramatrisation of the John Le Carre novel starring Alec Guiness as Smiley. Yesterday i purchased the follow up "Smiley's People" and will be watching that today.
Watched both parts of the final David Tennant DR WHO series. Fantastic stuff, but unsure about the new guy who is taking over the role.
Reading Slavoj Zizek's "In Defense of Lost Causes", a book i purchased from Waterstones with a book token from GC.(Thanks GC). My brother and sister in law got me the latest Record Collecotr 2010 Price Guide and a book of miscellany. Clothes from L and an M&S voucher from my cousin.
Off to watch some of Smiley's People now.
