Xuma,Books and Sunning
Jul. 8th, 2010 11:25 pmLast Friday I did a DJ set with Ville at Xuma, (the bar at Seven Dials). Four hours of funk soul and jazz. I took a box of 45s to spin.
It wasn’t very busy and very quiet after midnight.
I forgot to mention this on a previous blog as it is was one of the places I tried to DJ at last year.
Wednesday I did a couple of mystery shops at Leyland Paints in Brighton and in Hove. On the way back from the Hove visit I popped into the Oxfam charity shop in Blatchington Road and picked up two philosophy books - "A very Short Introduction to Nietzsche” and “Fifty Key Contemporary Thinkers” for a total of £3.48.

The Oxfam shop in Hove is definitely the best outlet for cheap philosophy books apart from Sandpiper in the North Laines.
Tuesday and Thursday mornings were Malibu Babe sunbathing periods, keeping the tan topped up and bronzed.Whilst sunbathing on the Tuesday a youngish lad, who was walking past, coquettishly asked me if she could have a sip of my cold beer. I repleed she can as long as she rubbed some sun tan lotion on my back.It was a very pleasurable rub!
Printed out a voucher from an email on Wednesday and in the evening watched the Spain v Germany match down at La Tasca. For a mere fiver i had a two pint pitcher of San Miguel beer and a free Champions Platter (worth £9.95). Two pints of the beer would normally be £7 so a real bargain! Since they won and are in the final Sunday i look foward to the next La Tasca offer!
Looks like I will be back in Slough over the weekend doing three quotas on the same job as I did last time. I hope it is a bit cooler then.
