It seems a long time since I last wrote my blog and that is not due to being busy. It just that other things came up such as updating my Discogs and Play Trade sites, both which are doing quite well, although the former has gone a little flat of late whilst the latter has been steadily improving.

Yesterday I was in Eastbourne doing a mystery shop for ESA, and I popped into Camilla’s Bookshop after I did the visit. Bought three books there -

“Recent Philosophers” by John Passmore (Duckworth)
“The Diary of Soren Kierkegaard” edited by Peter Rohde (Citadel Press)

“The Balcony, a Play” by Jean Genet (Faber)

Thursday I was in Worthing doing a mystery shop at Waterstones. Bought the following book , “Gray’s Anatomy” by John Gray (Penguin) , from them after I interacted with a bookseller finding out what modern and cultural history books to buy or recommend.
Afterwards I had a cup of coffee.

I also went to Wickes and did another shop on the same day.

Tuesday was quiz night at the Signalman and we ended up sixth from ten teams. GC , Sue and myself as the Three Stooges. Perhaps next time we will do better.

Last weekend Waterstones was having a double points weekend for loyalty card holders and I bought another philosophy book - “The Perfect Crime” by Jean Baudrillard (Verso).

That weekend was the Gay Pride Festival and my DJ night on the Friday was mutually cancelled by The Northern Lights and myself as Dr.Brightons, close by,  had a DJ playing very loud which would have drowned out  any noise I would have made.

Picked up another popular philosophy book from Oxfam mid week - “Bruce Springsteen and Philosophy”  - as I already have “Twilight and Philosophy”, and I know that Sandpiper Books have a copy of “Alfred Hitchcock and Philosophy”.

Talking of Sandpiper Books, the guy with the glasses, reads my blog apparently. Well it is always an enticing shop to visit for remaindered stock and they have a wide choice. I am like a kid in a sweet shop when I go there and have to restrain myself from blowing my money.  I decided that a bit of sycophantic kowtowing would impress him rather than saying something bad about them. Sandpiper always gets my vote!

Finished reading the Walter Benjamin book “The Work of Art In The Age Of Mechanical Reproduction” , a crisp short volume of thought provoking ideas.

During the week the Evening Star finally had their wonderful Triple on tap. A stonking 8.5% ABV complex brew of enormous complex  hoppy flavours. Delicious!

Well, at least Julian from Fine Records will not suffer  from withdrawal symptoms, as I will endeavour to keep this blog more updated.
