Writer's Block: Drama queen

I think it would have to be science fiction as it this  genre i love most. It covers the most fantastical adventures and good SF makes you think about possibilities and what futures could happen. It allows you to look at modern society and extrapolate from that , and it can act as a mirror on certain ideas that could become paramount in future generations. At its best it is an intellectual exercise in futurology but at its worst it is mere pap. That goes for any genre of course but the good thought provoking films  seem to be in a minority when it comes to top quality SF.
