Festive Folly
Dec. 10th, 2010 11:47 pmAnother small mystery shop today down at T Mobile shop in the centre. Afterwards a couple of pints down the Evening Star pub.
Picked up a cheap book from Oxfam , Michael Wood "In Search of The Trojan War" (BBC Books).
Posted a few more items from Discogs today, and with a few more that went off the previous day as well, sales are bouyant at the moment. I am in a better position to mail items off as now i have most of the stock in one place (although still a pile at Rick The Hats to sort out). At least the lag time between orders placed and items posted off is much narrower than it was a few weeks ago.
Thursday i had a free meal at The Cricketers in Southwick courtesy of Retail Eyes. Sunday a free meal at the Cliftonville in Hove and yet again on Monday in Worthing with the same shopping company.
Sold a few classical CDs to Julian at Fine Records in Hove as well. Might sort out some more next week for him. Monday will be too busy so i could go on Tuesday.
No Djing is planned at the moment although The Northern Lights have booked me for New Years Eve. I think i will need alot of folding money to do that gig! Hear me Manu!!
Anyway i hate all this Xmas fiasco. It is way too commercialised and full of hypocritical hogwash. I prefer it if it is just the season being celebrated, without any reference to religion or the giving and receiving of pressies that without the paraphernalia surrounding them, you might just as well give to yourself - since you know what you want and others do not.
Xmas trees - who need them? - another 19th century folly foisted on us to repeat ad nauseum in the annual treadmill of the final month of each year.
How i wish i could hibernate til spring or at least be away from it all on some sunny resort far flung from the maddening crowd.
