Sporting Fish
Feb. 6th, 2011 06:25 pmIt has been a heavy weekend of sport on TV with the Six Nations Rugby (yawn) and that means my cousin was watching all three games (Friday and Saturday) but at least we have had live football on Sunday, albeit a Welsh derby (Swansea v. Cardiff). I really hate Rugby Football and its American derivative.
Friday evening, ,whilst the Wales v. England was on ,I was listening to the DVD of the Last Interview of Edward Said , which I first watched way back in November. I have already read his book “Orientalism” a few years ago. He has written more books and an update to that one 15 years later (Orientalism came out in the seventies).
One thing I do miss as the moment is eating fish dishes as Tim cannot stand fish and everyday we have been having meat based dishes. The nearest thing he gets to fish is scampi and chips or mussels. Monday I will be able to eat something fishy as I am doing a mystery shop in Sittingbourne, a Greene King pub visit , and then over to Canterbury for another shop. These have been thin on the ground in this area and little else.
Finished reading “The Politics of Aesthetics” by Jacques Ranciere (Continuum) this morning.
