A good bus journey yesterday overall except the t for the journey between Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge. It took an hour just to get through the heavy traffic and then some oiky kids jumped onto the bus. Luckily they all disappeared when the bus reached Hadlow. The delay meant I just had a minute to get the final bus at Maidstone Chequers bus depot. Arrived in Teynham just after 5.30 pm.

Tim had made some spicy rice dish with lamb. It was bloody hot, full of chilli spices, with an after-burn and a kick that lasted. Loved it though, despite not feeling my face and jaw for awhile afterwards.

Unless you have been living on another planet you will be aware that there is certain wedding on today with wall to wall TV coverage. For us of the republican persuasion this is like having a day in hell. Alternative television choices will be difficult to find. So for me it will be a day of reading a book, listening to music and possibly playing DVDs.

Yesterday on the bus I finished reading the Jurgen Habermaus book “The Past As Future” and now started reading the modern history book I got from Eastbourne. I also read more of the Very Short Introduction to German Philosophy book. These Oxford short introductory books are an ideal succinct overview of a topic or area of knowledge. I love them.

Well finding alternative TV programmes was difficult with too much of that damn fucking wedding and repeats of it on the evening TV as well. Talk about overkill!!

So what I did was read the newspaper, skipping the parts with any mention of the event today, and then had lunch with Tim, and drank some wine. Afternoon was warmer, so I was sitting out in the garden reading a book and smoking my pipe.

At least we have May Day to look forward to ,since it a solidarity day with the workers of the world, and we should unite against all plutocratic authority of this overbearing capitalist society where the rich get richer and the poor more destitute. Revolution can only be around the corner, comrades.
