Yesterday was my first visit to Ramsgate. I did another charity shop visit ,as it was a gloriously sunny mild day for this current winter season. I bought three paperbacks and a small diary, one of the paperbacks was by the eminent Steven Pinker “The Language Instinct” (Penguin)., whilst the other two was an autobiography by Ned Sherrin and David Nichols “The Understudy”.

In Faversham I picked up the hefty and definitive Roger Pen rose book “The Road To Reality” .which is over a 1000 pages long.
Also had a late dinner,a cinema visit, and consequently got back to base very late. Steak and Abbott Ale pie with mashed potatoes and greens.Got to Teynham station at 10.33 pm and still a mile to walk to London Road itself.
Battery on mobile went flat quickly so unable to call cousin that I would be late back, but my reckoning deducted that he would have gone to the pub anyway.
Another development has happened with the saga of cousin's washing machine. He popped into Sittingbourne on the Monday morning to get the cheque stopped. Apparently it will take 14 days for him to get his money back, but meanwhile in the local rag on Wednesday,it was stated that Reeves the solicitors are honouring all dealings with the bankrupt store, thus enabling Tim to get his washing machine delivered. The irony is that if he had not stopped his cheque his machine would have been delivered in a few days. Now he has to wait 14 days to buy what he had already bought that fateful Thursday.
