Jan. 21st, 2012 10:09 amI don't normally read the Times newspaper but an article in the middle section, yesterday, caught my eye. The revival of vinyl and how vinyl is cool again. Well it has always been cooler than digital downloads in my book. It is a physical object that has a fetishistic quality to it.
The supplement also considered the decks to play them on, from a basic Ikon one at £60 to the mid range Project Debut (which I had once) ,up to the Linn LP12, .plus 25 albums you should own in the vinyl format.
The list of albums include ones by Pink Floyd, John Coltrane, Joanna Newsom, The White Stripes, King Crimson, Jimi Hendrix, Serge Gainsbourg, Led Zeppelin, Frank Zappa, Isaac Hayes, Stevie Wonder, Public Enemy and Kraftwerk.
