I Don't Take No Shit
Jul. 1st, 2012 12:12 amA splendiferous day for roaming around the Kent countryside and taking a trip down to Ashford via Faversham and Canterbury. The reason for this excursion was to visit Cineworld to see a film. That film was the uproariously funny “Ice Age 4 - Continental Drift”. A wonderful animated film that had me rolling in the aisles bent over with laughter. Money well spent.
On the way back took the high speed train from Ashford to Canterbury West station (for free) and caught the bus to Faversham, followed by the short train journey to Teynham station.
A few years back there was a couple of books which went into two volumes called “Crap Towns”. Can I nominate Ashford , since it must be one of the most crap towns in Kent alongside Margate and Dover. The reason for this town being crap is the ugly barnacle of a building called the County Hall shopping centre and the fact that ,unless you want to just travel locally by bus , after seven in the evening, there is no bus going further a field except for Tenderden of all places. You are stuffed if you want to go to Maidstone, Folkestone or Faversham, and thus have to rely on the rail network.
I sold another freebie LP form Rainham on EBay today, the Bill Conti soundtrack to “F.I.S.T” . That will be posted next week.
My erstwhile cousin, the infamous Spot, has repeated the same #ff on Twitter as he did last time. I think everyone knows my jazz knowledge by now. Perhaps next time you can tweet my excellent bus route and timetable knowledge as well as my more esoteric musical knowledge vis-à-vis folk and rare fuzz-pysche stuff including music coming out of the former Communist countries such as Poland and Hungary. Check my You Tube play list or my Worldsounz site on Livejournal for such wondrous sounds.
Enough said.
And finally, for all those players on the Song Pop quiz on Facebook I said on Twitter that “ I don’t want no show tune shit, I’m a rapper, a stone funk souler and a jazzer”. Good night.
