Libations in London and Whitstable
Jul. 5th, 2012 11:40 pmBeen another warm somewhat humid day. I took the train to London as I was invited to do a focus group on digital TV, well actually a one-to-one with a moderator looking at a website. This was in the afternoon in the City Road area between Moorgate and Old Street stations. For the 90 minute opinion gathering I was given fifty smackers. Mind you a travel card from Rochester still costs £19.60, so effectively you could say I got thirty quid for the tête-à-tête.

Afterwards I walked down City Road towards Farringdon and had a nifty pint of ale in a Wetherspoons pub. I then noticed that First Capital Connect (formerly Thameslink) do a new run from the city to Rochester as well as the usual Brighton to Bedford run. So I caught the 6.01 pm train and then waited for one to Whitstable as I had a Wetherspoons meal visit in the evening. Thursday is curry club so had a chicken jalfrezi with all the trimmings.Washed down with a pint of Adnams Ghost Ship ale (4.5 % ABV).

Rochester station.
Before l left I saw Spot doing a sandwich just filled with mayonnaise so I gave him a fiver to get some cheese or other sarnie filler. I come back late this evening to see no cheese in the fridge but did hear that he was spotted going up to the Dover Castle about 2.30 pm. At least he did manage to cook a chilli dish which I saw in the kitchen. It was stupid giving him that note but I should have guessed the temptation was too much for him to take.
Oh well, as from tomorrow a week away from this madness
