Brighton Visit
Jul. 8th, 2012 11:39 amYesterday I popped over to Brighton to visit the Evening Star. Had a pint and a half of yummy beer, specifically Dark Star Summer Solstice and a half of a Belgian ale called Brugse Zot (6.0 ABV).. I googled to find out a bit more about Zot -
“In 2005 Xavier Vanneste, son of Mrs Véronique Maes, renovated and restarted the old brewery which had been in the family since 1856. He launched Brugse Zot, a new beer with a unique recipe. Today Brugse Zot is the only beer brewed in Bruges’ town centre!
The people of Bruges are known as "Brugse Zotten" (Bruges Fools), also known as "Brugse Jonckers”
Afterwards I went down to the North Laines towards Sandpiper Books and from their back room bought the Nelson George book “Buppies, B-Boys, Baps & Bohos, Notes On Post-Soul Black Culture” (Da Capo) for a quid. Then from a charity shop, Martin Gardner “The Ambidextrous Universe, Left Right and The Fall of Parity” (Penguin).
A couple of LP’s picked up for a quid as well -
Elton John “Honky Chateau” (DJM)
Osibisa “Heads” (MCA)

The weather was dull and drizzly but so far this morning it has been dry with a bit of sunshine.
