Deal Dover and Folkstone
Jul. 19th, 2012 08:39 amYesterday I did a round trip eastward bound. I first went to Faversham to draw out some money, get some pipe shag and to do a charity shop visit.
In the charity shop down West Street bought two CD’s and two books for a fiver, as well as giving them some donational material as per my instructions.
The CD’s are -
Craig Armstrong - The Space Between Us (Melankolic)
Me & You - Floating Heavy (Tru Thoughts)
I use have the Craig Armstrong CD at one time during the mid nineties and I was amazed to find it again in a chazzer for a quid. Tru Thoughts is also my favourite Brighton based label, and the CD I picked up has some fine tracks on it, if eclectic and sometimes a bit patchy. Came out in 2007.
The two books are -
Lionel Shriver “We Need To Talk About Kevin” (Serpents Tail)
Bernard Cornwell “Heretic” (Harper Collins)

I then left Faversham to get to Canterbury and on towards Deal, Dover and Folkstone to do a number of Iceland visits. Whilst in Folkstone I stumbled across another Wetherspoons pub, The Samuel Peto, which I have seen as a visit before on one of my companies I use, and so if it comes up again it will worth a visit.

Got back from Seaford on Tuesday and arrived about 4.30 pm.
( Once again, read more )
Watched a film on BBC 4 ,“Girl With A Pearl Earring”, starring Scarlet Johannson and Colin Firth based on the novel and that famous painting of said girl by Vermeer.Would like to have it On DVD.
Today a trip to Tunbridge Wells to do a couple of visits.
