I was in Rochester today visiting a certain charity shop. I took the train as it was more direct.

On my first visit I bought two books and two CD’s and after a beer returned to buy two more books and another CD.

The books are -

Charles Dickens - Oliver Twist (Penguin Classics)
Michael Frayn - Headlong (Faber)
John LeCarre - Our Kind of Traitor (Penguin)
Justin Cronin - The Passage (Orion hardback)

The CD’s are -

Jamiroquai - Emergency On Planet Earth (Arenda)
Jeru The Damaja - The Sun Rises In The East (Payday / FFRR)
Various Artists - Memento Bittersweet (Catalyst)
Beethoven - Symphony No.9 / Daniel Barenboim & Staatskapelle Berlin (Erato)

I had a quick pint at a Wetherspoons pub, a straw coloured Green king IPA Gold (.1 % ABV).

I like coming to Rochester as the High Street has at least three good bookshops as well as the ubiquitous chazzers, City Books being one and the other being Baggins, where I picked up this -

Rochester is also the town where I sometimes get my pipe shag from the Wine Emporium

It is also a good place to peruse antique shops such as the Dickensian Copperfields -

On the way back I popped into Rainham to my favourite record shop where I pick up the freebies. Got these for nowt -
