Swale FM Xmas Party (Part Two)
Dec. 16th, 2012 11:19 amThese are from the Swale FM Xmas Meal evening at the Red Lion pub, after we met at the studio.
The food was excellent. My starter was prawns in a smoke salmon parcel, followed by lamb shank and the apple strudel.
I had a couple of pints of Ringwood Best Bitter, and we had red winr with the meal.

Pete Flynn, the studio manager , looks quite picled here.

A quiet day spent reading and watching some television. Watched “The Remains Of The Day” on Film Four, based on the novel by Kazuo Ishiguro, and before that, the classic “Belles Of St.Trinians” with Alisdair Sims and George Cole who became famous as Arthur Daley in “Minder”.
The other Kazuo Ishiguro novel that has been turned into a film is “Never Let Me Go”,which I have read and watched as a film on DVD. He is a writer of a unique sensibility, and apart from this one, I have yet to read any of his others, including the one I watched today.
I have a few other books to read before I start on any other Ishiguro novels. I still have a good number of World Book Night 2012 books to read, and these will form the basis of my Fifty Book Challenge for the New Year.
