Quick Trip
Jan. 22nd, 2013 12:20 pmThis morning a quick trip to Faversham to get some money out with passport in hand to confirm my identity. Picked up a cheap paperback for 25 pence. Another copy of "Lfe Of Pi" by Yann Martel to sell. Then topped up the electricty key meter when i got back.
Might go the Office after lunch.
Oh and happy birthday to

Vinyl Is Still King
Jan. 22nd, 2013 04:41 pmA couple of articles in both the Independent and the Guardian papers have caught onto the idea that vinyl is having a resurgence against the falling ales of CD's., and that younger enthusiasts are turning away from downloads and mp3's. This sounds like good news, except we seem to have two markets here. Limited and expensive new vinyl reissues or issues and the second hand market. I tend to prefer the latter and that is only due to cost, although sometimes indie bands are releasing vinyl singles at much reduced prices, or at least a ploy by the record companies to promote sales.
Either way, it proves the durability of vinyl against all other formats and for me, at least, it is an area i still collect, and that is why i hunt the charity shops and second hand dealers for the oddity or classic piece of soul , funk, jazz or rock.

Oh and this is a nod to anyone in Brighton on Friday 22 February - me and my Finnish mate will be spinning vinyl at the Northern Lights that evening.
