The three part programme hosted by Danny Baker on BBC 4 was fascinating. Monday was rock, Tuesday was pop and tonight it was R&B, which for me was the highlight, as I have always been a soul boy at heart.

Throughout the three programmes Danny and his guests selected their three iconic albums with Danny adding a final one to make his Baler's dozen.

These programmes have whetted my appetite to hear these great slabs of vinyl again, from Frank Zappa, Joni Mitchell, Prince, Colosseum, Beach Boys, Isaac Hayes, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, well I could go. If you have missed them, download from the BBC iPlayer now.
