It is quite unbelievable that some parts of the country had snowstorms with the concomitant disruption and power outage, whilst so far Kent has escaped it all. It is meant to be spring but it does seem that winter has come back with a vengeance.

At least I  was happy when the post arrived with something for me, and after my stint at the Office, I gave my cousin twenty quid towards the council tax. We met at Wetherspoons , and i bought him a pint of Guinness and a cheap meal, as I was travelling to Tunbridge Wells today. I decided to eat later when i go to the royal town.

Picked up a couple of cheap CD box sets in the HMV sale, since all the blue cross ones are on a "buy one get one free offer". I bought the Nina Simone box set which incorporates three of her albums, "Emergency Ward", "Nina Simone Sings The Blues" and the classic "Baltimore".

The other is a four CD set of Joe Harriott jazz music called "The Joe Harriott Story" (Proper Records)

I did a charity shop visit as well, so picked up some books and a DVD for a fiver.

The books are -

Franz Kafka "Metamorphosis and Other Stories" (Penguin Modern Classics)
John Mortimer "Titmus Regained" (Penguin Modern Classics)
Douglas Adams "The Hitch-hikers Guide To The Galaxy, The Trilogy of Four" (Picador)

and the DVD is "X-Men, The Last Stand"

Tomorrow, if it does snow down here, I will staying in listening to some jazz by Joe and more Nina Simone music.
