The Long Weekend
Apr. 2nd, 2013 07:47 pmBack from my sojourn on the Sussex coast , and a weekend that has been on the whole a very good one. A pity that the weather was still very chilly and still feeling wintry.
Friday GC and I went over to Hailsham. She was doing a visit, and we both perused the charity shops. I picked-up two books for a quid which has gone onto my Play Trade site, of which one has been sold already.
Sunday i travelled to Brighton to meet Lorna. We had lunch at the Wetherspoons in North Street for the Sunday lunch club. She had the beef dinner and I had pork. We then walked round the corner to a branch of Cafe Nero to have some green tea and chat.
We then walked up North Street towards the clock tower, and before we departed to go our separate ways, I kissed her. There was a tinge of regret in my heart.
I walked down towards the North Laines and bought some cheap books from the Amnesty shop.

Picked up a couple of vinyl LP's from them for a quid each -
Quincy Jones - Roots Soundtrack (A&M)
Woody Herman - Light My Fire (Chess)
I then walked up towards the rail station and popped into the Evening Star pub and had a couple of beers, before taking the train back to Seaford.
Monday GC treated me to a meal at Cafe Rouge (at the Marina) using some of her Tesco vouchers. We had a starter and then a main meal. Everything was absolutely gorgeous and tasty.

Poulet Breton

The 7 oz. Bavette
We looked around the shops within the Marina complex , popping into The Works, but nothing inspired me, so we left in separate directions, GC to Pavers and I dived into the Wetherspoons for a drink.
I then took a bus to have my last drinks at The Evening Star before i returned to the other county.
On my journey back to Kent I went via Eastbourne, Hastings, Tenderden and up to Ashford for another Wetherspoons visit and as it was steak club day, I had this with a Scottish Belhaven Black Stout.
