Ephemera and Paraphernalia
May. 23rd, 2013 07:42 pmOne of the books I bought recently came with items stuffed inside its pages. The book was “Fermat's Last Theorem” by Simon Singh.

I love it when previous owners annotate it or add items that are pertinent to it, There was three postcards, a piece of aper with pertinent facts in the book and where they appear, such as “game theory page 167”. Also, was a cut out piece from a newspaper dated 7 Sept 04 - “Russian recluse may have solved $1m sum” and a typed page of further reading.
The postcards are interesting too, and personal things such as “the expression on Alex's face when I told him about the bike money”. Flip-side is a picture, “Friday Street Surrey” by Stuart Stanley. The other two postcards also feature oil paintings - “The Winnower” by Jean-François Millet and pictures of the Mosel area around Koblenz.
It is not often I find such ephemera inside a book.
