Ambient and Jazzy Grooves
Nov. 8th, 2013 06:13 pm Playing a fine compilation of Jazzy tunes at the moment - Brazil Rhodes 4 - downloaded form a blog site that i think was linked to one of the geezers who blogs on the verygoodplus website. Some cool tunes here, which i might add to my next gig down at the Northern Lights on November 23 rd. All the tracks feature a Fender Rhodes piano , hence the title of the album.
Meanwhile, i was listening to the debut album by London Grammar, whose lead singer reminds me a bit of Liz fazer from the Cocteau Twins , and the feel to the album is somewhere between ambient electronica and the kind of trip hop groove that Portishead excelled in.
Tomorrow I am off to do a Matalan covert shop and then back to Canterbury for a chazzer visit.
