Bits 'n' Bobs

People were still banging off fireworks both Friday night and Saturday night. It doesn't phase Florence, our cat, whom seemed to be interested in watching all the different colours go up. It quite fascinated her.

I have switched the wi fi dongles around and put the new Edimax one in the old laptop and the longer one in the newer laptop. I was finding that part of my problem with the slowness of the new laptop was partially due to the Edimax dongle. By switching them the new laptop is faster. Also, for some reason, the old laptop is unaffected by having the Edimax brand , and it too seems somewhat faster on loading we pages. Weird - but somehow both laptops seem to like their new wi fi dongle adaptors.

The Philippines has had some bad luck of late, first with the earthquake and now Typhoon Haiyan. However, looking at Facebook just a few minutes ago I see that Lorna has put up some pictures with a friend at a mall in Quezon City, north of Manila. The brunt of the storm was in the southern islands
