Book 20 -- The Book Of The Goons

Well, this did not take long to read and that was due to too much padding. The scripts are good but the rest is disappointing. I'm not sure what I expected from this book, but it disappointed me regardless. It contains about three Goon Show scripts which are, as you would expect, excellent.
But the rest of book felt like padding to me, and a rushed job. It has a lot of black-and-white photos which I didn't find desperately interesting. It has a lot of correspondence among the Goons which may have historical significance but it all seemed much of a muchness to me and not that funny. I guess I expected a historical account of the Goons. Thank goodness it was one of those free books i picked up from the charity shop that moved a few doors up the road in Faversham.
