They say that sometimes the plans of men , or was it mice and men, can sometimes be scuppered. This was the case when i received a direct message on FB from my mate Phil.

Once a month we have a lunch club in Brighton and it had gravitated towards a Wednesday, and because of the course i am doing next Wednesday was fixed in stone.
Then due to the success of Phil's new venture i get a message from him last night.

In the message he states -
"Bad news I'm afraid Dave...Meeting at work yesterday and we have a kitchen refurb going on today, after which they want to open the restaurant for lunch every Wednesday starting 18th of June and Saturday nights which is good for my hours but means that I won't be able to do lunch club on a Wednesday anymore. They've chosen Wednesdays because that was our busy one at the pub and they've had lots of enquires off my past customers."

I suppose i got too reliant on his car and a trip down for lunch club. To travel down by bus is not impossible, but quite tiring. I would have to leave at 7.30 am and start journey back immediately after lunch club. It is doable , or leave on Tuesday straight after the course and come back on the said Wednesday is the other option. So a bit of a quandary at the moment to which i shall inform the other club members my decision, which although far from certain, is that it will go ahead as planned.

At least i now know to reschedule dates for the following month to leave Wednedays out.

LJ is down again. I was editing a post and about to submit an d - bam! - website cannot be found blah blah. Checked on the down time site and yep service reports say it is currently down. This is quite exacerbating.

EDIT - 10 am - ah it is back. All is forgiven.

I love the music of Leonard Cohen and here is a track that when i heard it blew my socks off, and i hope it does the same to you, assuming that you wear socks, These days i tend to go barefoot lol. Anyway the track is called Morning Glory.

Here is a classic track by the band Spirit from 1968 called Taurus -

Sounds a bit familiar does it? Well here is Led Zeppelin and their famous Stairway To Heaven from a few years later. . What do you think?

It is just so happens that i love both the tracks and Spirit were a good  psychedelic rock band of the sixties with occasional tinges of classical and jazz flavours thrown into the mix.
Reminds me of the George Harrison / Chiffons fiasco of My Sweet Lord / He's So Fine.

Another mystery shop done in Sittingbourne this morning. Picked up three DVD's and two CD's for a fiver  from the visit and from the Demelza charity shop a few stores away from Scope, a version of Rachmaninov's  Symphony No.2 by the RPO conducted by Andrew Litton for 25 pence!

The DVD's are -
Wayne's World
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
The Universe

and the two CD's are -
Beth Orton - Trailer Park
Various - Austin Powers, The Spy Who Shagged Me Soundtrack

Been watching a few more episodes of Farscape -  I forgot how good that series was.

Tomorrow a visit to Faversham to sell some books and to peruse the charity shops for any bargains.
