Sevenoaks and Rochester Visit
Jul. 3rd, 2014 12:51 amIt has been a very enjoyable day with excellent sunny weather. I first had to pop over to Faversham to get some pipe tobacco and visit the library. I printed out all the work i needed for the next couple f days.

On the bus from the town going towards my first visit i noticed that a woman had a young dog, a pup, in a pram. I thought it was so sweet i had to take a covert pic of the situation.

The pub was sound asleep and looked very comfortable
After the lunch in Sevenoaks i decided that i had no time to get down to Paddock Wood so i caught a bus, a new journey for me, that meandered through lovely villages such as Eynesford towards Swanley , where i caught the train to Rochester,
In Rochester, i visited a Red Cross charity and bought some books for a fiver. These were -

Afterwards, i mooched around the town and took some more pics with the camera phone. Yeah , left the damn Canon at home again.

This is Rochester cathedral.

This is the castle.
I also perused another book shop which had some appetizing titles in its bookshelves.

Then it was time to hop onto a bus towards Strood and then walk down to the Cineworld cinema for my last visit.
The film i watched, which i had some reservations about, was Chef. It was a delight. A really good feel-good type of film, but what made it special for me was the musical backdrop to it. Latino rhythms, some soul, but mostly hot percussion led salsa.
I got the tracks from Wikipedia , and i am just salivating over some of these grooves, some of which i have used in my DJ gigs, esp, the first one, and the Hot 8 Brass Band version of the Marvin Gaye track, plus a solid version of the Santana tune "Oye Como Va".
I must have annoyed most of my fellow movie watchers by jiggling in my seat, doing percussive sounds, finger snapping my fingers, and occasionally humming the tunes.
