I suppose you could call my brother [livejournal.com profile] coming42 a bit of a train geek as he has been waxing lyrically over some engines of the past and a set of DVD's released  by the BFI under the title of British Transport Films. So to salivate his thirst here is a clip of the Elizabethan Express documentary from 1954.

Finished doing the three reports from the visit to Miadstone yesterday. Also, bro [livejournal.com profile] coming42 stepped in last night with a fund top-up.

Weather is still dull but at least it is dry. May pop over to Faversham today but will leave any visits to Tuesday , unless i do Sheerness for a charity shop visit.

Anyway, watched some British Transport Films last night, including the twenty minute Elizabeth Express to Edinburgh. The real steam train enthusiast is my brother whom has two or three DVD sets of the stuff.

For now, the pieces of music i have chosen this morning is firstly, by Arcade Fire and is called Normal Person.

Not awake yet, then perhaps this will get you up. Eels from the American Beauty soundtrack and Cancer For The Cure.

The video is cool and weird too!

Oh and RIP to the last of the Ramones  -  Tommy Ramone. You all rocked!
So as a tribute the track i  have chosen is Sheena Is A Punk Rocker -

Enjoy.PLAY LOUD too!

I did pop over to Faversham in the end, as i felt that it would be good to see what was gong on. Glad i did. It was another day of fun and frolics in the town and people dressing up. When i returned home via the train and alighted at the village station the weather just warmed up by a good few degrees  centigrade and turned out quite sunny. Oh blast i thought!

Anyway,, i had a pint of  a ginger and chilli flavoured  cider in the Wetherspoons cider festival which started yesterday.

An awesome flavour to this cider. You could really taste the ginger in it and just a little of the spicy chilli.

Then i noticed this contraption outside with a beatbox playing some soundscapes (more of this later).

I was talking to somebody who was looking after it and they said that a couple will be coming towards it, getting in it, and trolling it down the street.

I was still wearing the new cap which matched my Adidas jacket  i picked up for a fiver from a charity shop in Whitstable the previous month.

Past sentence was closed today for some reason, but there were a couple of books in his window that my brother might be interested in.

I have a couple of short videos to upload to You Tube and if it works then i shall post them here.

Currently listening to BBC Radio 6 which i should listen more because the mix of music on that station is excellent

So apart from the cap i bought yesterday i found a newish book on Star Trek for a quid at The Works in Maidstone.

I shall beam down to the kitchen now and make some food for myself.

I am in a FUNKY MOOD , so here are some top tunes, starting with St. Germaine and Rose Rouge -

Next up Japan's U.F.O (United Futures Organisation) with Dee Dee Bridgewater and Flying Saucer

Funk from Australia with The Bamboos ad their version of Tighten Up (originally done by Archie Bell and The Drells)

As you know , i love the music of Quantic, so here is a groove with Spanky Wilson and Don't Joke With The Hungry Man.

That is such a groove man, and Quantic is a Brighton lad you know.

More funk with the Greyboy Allstars with Fred Wesley and a track called Fried Grease (Fred use to be James Brown's sax man).

Next up Meshell Ndegeocello and a heavy funk track called If Thea's Your Boyfriend

And penultimately , Galliano and their classic Price Of Peace.

Such a cool groove to end with, except for my all time fave below.

And finally, Jocelyn Brown with the classic Somebody' Else's Guy

Enjoy.
