I have just watched via the BBC iPlayer the sixth episode in the series The Secret Life Of Books as it was about Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. In this half hour documentary we see the original manuscript of the novel at the Bodleain in Oxford in which corrections and editing have been made by Peter Bysshe Shelley. It was he who edited most of Victor Frankenstein's narration leaving the narration of the monster to Mary.

Also the letters are partially undated but the programme goes to show that the letters which span the novel are roughly from a nine month period from when Mary was conceived to the two days after her mothers death. Mary Wollstonecraft died 11 days after Mary was born.

It was a fascinating documentary and one which will help me enjoy re-reading the book again soon.

Haven't done one of these for awhile, the after midnight tune. Now that You Tube is back to fast responses again after the reset of the laptop, i am in a musical smorgasbord of groovy discoveries.

From Cher, a track i played last gig , I Walk On Gilded Splinters, ina very funky groove.

Also, one of the last tracks played from my same DJ night was this jazzy number, Mark Murphy and On The Red Clay.

Enjoy and good night or whatever time it is in your part of the world.

So back on my journeys again with the last week of the Gift Aid Project, hence off to  Canterbury , Sheerness and Rochester. Deal will be dealt with tomorrow.

It is a dry sunny day so i am making the most of it.

Might have a beer out as well. Meanwhile another cool jazzy  tune. Freddy Cole singing Brother,Where Are You?"

Enjoy.

Completed my Gift Aid project today with just one more in Rochester tomorrow.  I started in deal, then did Canterbury and ended up in Sheerness. No time to go charity shop perusing. Weather was sunny if cold, and hopefully tomorrow will stay dry.

I am off to Sussex for a few days. Lunch club on Thursday and will enjoy the environs around Brighton, including popping over to see the new incumbent at Catnip Cottage, Riley the cat.

Last night I watched a Sherlock from the BBC that i do not remember seeing before despite the fact it was from the first series, The Blind Banker.

I also converted 120 You Tube music videos to MP3 format from my jazzis file on the site.
