Last night i watched the second DVD of the double DVD QI Series One, that is five episodes including a Xmas special. Very very funny, informative, and of course quite interesting.

Listening to some of the Xmas musicposted by   [livejournal.com profile] cmcmck is a joy. Here is my addition to that list, more modern perhaps, but just as beautiful, and not just specifically for Xmas. John Tavener, The Lamb.

Peace and love.

I walked into Sittingbourne today as it was a dry sunlit cold day, plus as i was not doing any mystery shop, i did not want to spend any money on a bus journey.

The reason for going was that I wanted to try and find a CD which i had sold on Discogs, and been unable to locate at home. Not found in the town but then there is always Faversham tomorrow as it should not be too difficult to find
(hopefully).

Maybe that CD will turn up soon and if not another careful perusal of the chazzers in Faversham.

What is it? The Strokes "This Is It".

Whilst in the town i picked up a CD by Angie Stone , "Mahogany Soul", for fifty pence, plus a box of cheap Xmas cards from the 99p shop.

Meanwhile, i posted off five items from Ebay and Discog sales this morning and now have another four to post tomorrow.

A couple of soul numbers. From the Angie Stone "Mahogany Soul" album , a track called "Wish I Didn't Miss You".

Now for those who recognize samples, the backing is very familiar , and so it should be as it is the classic O'Jays tune "Back Stabbers".

Oh yeah!

Here is another classic slab of 70's soul music , The Five Stairsteps and "Ooh Child".

Mostly forgotten since the late 60's and early 70's, this Chicago based family band (Burke Family), in the spring of 1970, released its sole certified million-seller and biggest pop hit, "O-o-h Child" (written by Stan Vincent) .
Then later on they appeared on George Harrison's Dark Horse label with an album called Second Resurrection. Yes , George of Beatles fame! The track i have chosen is "Pasado"..

History of group )

So to end with , here is Keni Burke "Risin' To The Top".

Enjoy.
