I managed to do my Canterbury visit today due to the help of Phil, ex-landlord of the Dover Castle Inn, who was off to get some supplies from Bookers. So he picked me up and we drove off to Canterbury. After i did my visit and he collected some items from the wholesalers. We then drove back to Faversham so that he could pick up some potatoes from Macknades, and then he waited for me whilst i sold some books at Past Sentence. I got seven quid so now i have enough for my trip tomorrow. He then dropped me back home before going back to Sittingbourne.

I posted two items form sales at Ebay and Discogs as well. Apart from the crappy weather, it was much milder than yesterday.

All i need now is just more sales online!

Stevie Smith "Me Again" (Virago)

OK, I'll confess: before I read this book, the only bit of Stevie Smith's work that I had come across was 'Not Waving But Drowning'.

This ignorance did not prevent my forming an opinion upon the lady. This book has shattered all those pre-conceptions. Smith's work is not, as I had expected. avant garde or feminist; rather, it is a rather sad evocation of a bygone era.

Stevie Smith has an ability for which I long; the ability to draw a word picture in few words. I can see why she is respected as an author and this collection of poems,, essays, and criticism is a fine collection of her work.

Man, just watch this video. The horrible actions of people against a homeless man and the kid and his brothers that help him. Tears fell as i watched it too. Sometimes good people do good things. Why can't it be that way every day?

The security guard beats him and the beggar stays calm but watch the kid in the background—WOW

Concerning the terrible sad crisis of the refugees here are some refugee songs, inspired by a post from [livejournal.com profile] asakiyume -

Liam Blaney - Refugee Song

Woody Guthrie - Dust Bowl Refugee

Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers - Refugee

Rise Against - Prayer Of The Refugee

Enjoy.

Connected the speakers to the hifi but no sound coming out.Double checked the speakers and connections, so it may be something to do with the cables. Once i am in good fortune again i may upgrade the speaker cables or just keep using the high quality headphones.

Meanwhile, as i have Season Six of Charmed to watch on DVD i shall now go off , headphones on , and fantasize over the gals.

Well i re-watched four episodes from Season 6 of Charmed tonight from the opening two episodes of the Valkyries through to the one where the Stillman Sisters identity theft the girls to get the Book Of Shadows.

I was thinking that whilst watching the episodes i fancied some popcorn like you have in the cinema , but none in the pantry, and then i discovered this animated gif. Virtual popcorn, thank you Phoebe!
