I slept in this morning and forgot to do the morning gif post. Oh well. Off to the island first to do a cafe shop visit inside a supermarket and then to Bluewater for a techy visit.

I have not been able to comment on everyone's posts - so i amnot ignoring ou folks - but work has ballooned.

Off again tomorrow Chatham way, and without checking my diary pretty busy all week.

Tata for now.

What's something that you needed to get done today and did?

How is tomorrow looking?

Oh bugger Sunday trading and train replacement buses - due to engineering works.

I did my cafe shop visit on the island but just missed one train going back to Sittingbourne and had to wait nearly an hour for the next one. Then a further twenty minutes to go on a short train trip to Rainham - then replacement bus to Chatham etc. By the time i get the Bluewater bus the shops there will be closed due to Sunday trading (5 pm)

So now too late to get there before five - hence these two at Bluewater will have to be done another day now - i am definitely NOT doing any more Sunday visits.

Hence, i am in Spoons Chatham drinking beer! This is one of the newest pubs in the chain looks very nice inside. Decided to relax.

Jem Campbell "Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops" (Constable)

Very funny book containing brief anecdotes from booksellers about weird requests to which they have been subject. Most are gathered from a particular bookshop in London and another one in Edinburgh, with a short selection from others elsewhere in the country/world. They range from the vacant ("I read this book decades ago, don't know the title or author but it had a green cover, do you know which one I mean?"; or "the title was "something something", can you search for it on your computer?") to the chillingly naive ("I enjoyed the Diary of Ann Frank, why did she never write a sequel?") They also include bizarre requests to buy or borrow items such as ice cubes or condoms, or queries on how to cook a chicken.

After i had my delicious lamb shank, peas and mashed potato at the supermarket cafe i walked back towards the rail station. There is a path from the dtor that follows the river and a recreational area for residents. The swans were nowhere to be seen when i went to do my visit but on the way back they were sunning themselves or just hanging out in the recreational area not far from swings for the kiddies. One of the younger ones came towardsme, probably expecting some foodor checking if i had any goodies in my laptop bag.
