Bits n'Bobs
Apr. 14th, 2017 12:52 pmSlept in for awhile since this is a holiday period. The fact that it is a Friday due to some religious thing, the bus services are on a Sunday timetable.Henceforth, i am not going to do any visits today sans the hassle i would get trying to traverse the county especially if was Ashford. Been there done that.
I am also making up for the aborted visit to the pub last night. This, dear readers,i have just had the mixed grill on the Managers Special board today.
It also looks like it could be a sunny day , albeit after the hiccup of an overcast sky this morning. Usually bank holiday weather tends to be crap.
Cat reappeared last night. I fed the feline some Dreamies and a saucer of milk. I am beginning to suspect that this cat is quite domesticated and is a lost cat. Then as i left the Quays to walk into town i noticed somebody had put up a Lost Cat Found poster on the fenced gates leading to the Quays. I hope the feline will be reunited with its owner but i shall miss that gorgeous puss.
One of the DVD's i bought from the charity shop was a remake of Total Recall, based on a short story by Philip K Dick, "We Can Remember iT For You Wholesale". This 2012 remake was very good ,tense and thrilling - but you know what - i still prefer the 1990 version.

Which version, assuming you have seen it,do you prefer?

The Doctor's Easter Dilemma - A Challenge
Apr. 14th, 2017 01:46 pmAnother tale or drabble for
lindahoyland. Here -
http://lindahoyland.livejournal.com/852980.html

The Doctor was cross with himself for mislaying the time modulation device behind. How could he get past those pesky Daleks to retrieve the device from the tomb. He knew the problem and why he failed. Despite being a Time Lord with two hearts he knew that he had feelings for Clara. That is why he wanted the device so that, despite all the warnings of playing around with time streams, he had to resurrect her.
He pensively stared at the console rapidly gnawing at an ice bun Time was running out. He had panted a bomb in the central core of the Daleks timeship. At least the chameleon circuits were working as he had transmogrified the bomb into an egg. It was set to detonate in the next ten minutes.
Then he had a flash of inspiration. He thrust the chameleon circuits into action, "Geronimo" he shouted, and morphed the TARDIS into a giant rabbit. He bounced the ship over surprised Daleks coming out of their grounded timeshop right into the catacombs where the tomb was located , opened the doors of his time machine, ran and grabbed the time modulation device, ran back, and set the TARDIS to head off to Earth circa 2219.
This was the last time he had seen Clara alive, that impossible girl, and he was going to save her, resurrect her from the clutches of death.

The Friday Five
Apr. 14th, 2017 02:36 pmWould you consider having plastic surgery?
What is your computer wallpaper right now?
If you could spend a day with any fictional character, who would it be and what would the two of you do?
Do you like beards, goatees or moustaches? Why or why not?
Whom is your favourite character from a Stephen King book?

Quiescence
Apr. 14th, 2017 11:20 pmWell,it certainly has been a quiet day.
Had lunch at the pub midday and then after three drinks i left the place.and had an afternoon siesta. A much needed one.
I did that for a couple of hours and then listened to the radio for awhile. The last programme being one by A.L.Kennedy on the Power or Reading.
She extols the virtues of reading and its power to encourage respect for the value and sovereignty of other people's existence.
"It allows you to look and feel your way through the lives of others who may apparently be very other - and yet here they are - inside your head."
I shall be watching a DVD i purchased from Thursday's charity shop visit by Michael Palin - a documentary series on New Europe.

Good night folks.
Oh i had to use DW due to the fact that the Quays Wi-Fi really screws up my LJ sometimes.
