A lovely sunny Spring day.Slightly chilling wind though.

Just picked up some work again from ESA for tomorrow in Maidstone Dartford and Whitstable.

Yesterday after i did the visit in Ashford and when i arrived back in Faversham i popped into the Fleurs bookshop and found these for a quid each.

The two Foyles books are collections of unusual words or less known ones collected by Christopher Foyle, whom is the chairman of the famous Foyles Bookshop in London.

A few words selected  randomly from these two books.

Exspuition - the act of discharging saliva by spiiting.

Dangleation - dallying with girls,flirtation.

Phaeic - dusky.

Kexy - dried up or wilting

A philologist's delight infact.

Now for some music -

Lisa Gerrard - Violina

Gerrard sings many of her songs, such as "Now We Are Free", "Come Tenderness", "Serenity", "The Valley of the Moon", "Tempest", "Pilgrimage of Lost Children", "Coming Home" and "Sanvean" in idioglossia. With respect to such work she has said, "I sing in the language of the Heart. It's an invented language that I've had for a very long time. I believe I started singing in it when I was about 12. Roughly that time. And I believed that I was speaking to God when I sang in that language".

A Silver Mt. Zion - Mountains Made of Steam

A Silver Mt. Zion's (also known as Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra) song 'Mountains Made of Steam' off the 2005 album 'Horses in the Sky'.

The still shot is taken from the animated film Howl's Moving Castle

Enjoy.

Here is a band i love so much - their post rock string based and guitar based nihilism i find cathartic. They have been to Brighton twice whilst i loved there and seem them on both occasions. They have made five albums so far as a collective - all highly recommended.

This is the second album -

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven [FULL ALBUM]

The four tracks on Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven are composed of individually named internal movements. The whole album is instrumental, except for sampled voice inserts. The samples on the album are often used to send some satirical or political message. The four tracks are Storm, Static, Sleep and Antenna To Heaven and cover two CD;s or four sides of vinyl. This album blew me away when i first heard it - a kind of modern classicism pervades the music - so epic.

In these troubled times, these nihilistic post apocalypse albums they do seem to be appropriate.
