In Canterbury Again
Jun. 9th, 2018 10:42 pmI popped over to Canterbury to do a charity shop visit but beforehand sold some books at Past Sentence.Whilst in the bookstore i saw that Ewart was there enquiring about a book.We chatted and after i sold the books we went for a quick drink at The Bear before my next bus to the cathedral city. He purchased a book by some Irish writer, which i noted to memory as Peadar O'Donnell. So Wiki tellls me that -
Peadar O'Donnell (Irish: Peadar Ó Domhnaill; 22 February 1893 – 13 May 1986) was one of the foremost radicals of 20th-century Ireland. O'Donnell became prominent as an Irish republican, socialist activist, politician and writer.
I must admit i have not heard of him until now.
So after the quick drink i continue with my journey to the city and arrived there at around three. The sun was just coming out as the morning was generally cold and dreary.
I purchase a couple of DVD box sets from the designated charity shop, one being the first season of Battlestar Galactica. I have seen all of these shows but not for a long time. Whilst perusing other charity shops i find these two CD compilations.

Both are excellent and really shows how country music in the late sixties and seventies went soulful and funky!
I will probably do a post around them at some point.
I have been watching some old Morse episodes on DVD.We have a small library of DVD’s in the common room which we can borrow and watch. I have watched two of the three episodes on this set and will watch Last Bus To Woodstock tomorrow.
Base on the books by crime novel writer Colin Dexter these are all based in the university city of Oxford. They are very entertaining.
I am listening to a CD by Andrew Hill as i write. A superb slice of post bop jazz from 2000.

Tomorrow i have nothing planned except for sorting out some CD's to exchange at MVE Notting Hill.Monday i have a trip to London in which i shall be doing five visits ,including two railway station based coffee shops, a furniture store , a charity shop in Wandsworth, and finally a Japanese sushi take away.
That’s all for now.
Oh ,before i forget, has anybody watched Cloak and Dagger on Prime yet? Any thoughts on it?
I have seen the first two episodes of this new Marvel based superhero series..
