Another nonchalant day of doing little except for posting off a sold CD at the local post office in Lower Road.

I have mostly been listening to music - some classical and some jazz in fact.

I finished another book I had been reading and tackling a few others as well.

Currently reading a book on jazz and another on Romantic art, plus a collection of short stories. I sometimes wish that time could be stretched so that as well as this I can watch some TV programmes. I can not do both - watch TV and read a book at the same time but with non-vocal music, I can.

Last night Phil and I had our usual chinwag at the local boozer, The Leading Light pub. We got talking about castratos as I had found a CD by Cecilia Bartoli called "Sacrificium" -a two-CD set in a CD-sized hardback book in which she sings various arias and songs that were made for the castrato voice. The book has a history and encyclopedia of the castrato voice.

Phil drove me homeaftwerwards  and gave me a dinner that he made for his lady masons. I had that dinner today, a very delicious Shepards pie with roast potatoes and veg.

And next Tuesday is our monthly lunch club in Brighton.
