Jazzmeister here, giving you some tasty and fine jazz and with it some guitar plucking man.

Wes Montgomery - Full House

The kind of groove that went down well at The Northern Lights.

Night all.

From 1971, with Chris Farlowe on vocals. Remember my brother [livejournal.com profile] davesmusictank had one of their albums on vinyl, back in the 70s...

A couple of tracks from the two Atomic Rooster albums I had on vinyl way back in the '70s.Tanks for reminding me bro [livejournal.com profile] coming42.

Atomic Rooster - Death Walks Behind You

Death walks behind you
Death walks behind you
Death walks behind you
Lock the door, switch the light
You'll be so afraid tonight
Hide away from the bad
Count the nine lives that you had
Start to scream, shout for help
There is no one by your side
To forget what is done
Seems so hard to carry on
Luck is false, that it's near
Bring yourself to understand
It's your fate or what's cast
Point a finger at yourself
Death walks behind you
Death walks behind you
Death walks behind you
Death walks behind you
Lock your door, switch the light
You'll be so afraid tonight
Hide away from the bad
Count the nine lives that you had
Start to scream, shout for help
There is no one by your side
To forget what is done
Seems so hard to carry on
Seems so hard to carry on
Carry on
Death walks behind you
Death walks behind you
Death walks behind you
Death walks behind you …

Atomic Rooster - Black Snake

After my visits in Hempstead Valley yesterday and singing (to myself) Valley Girls by Frank Zappa on the way back, I stopped in Rainham to look at what one of the charity shoos had. It was pouring down with rain so why not?

Anyway, as it was three CD's for a quid I bought two compilations and this great live album.

The others were -

Various - Jazz En Verve Vol. 1 for saleVarious - All That Jazz Is Back for sale

I was in Sheerness today doing a couple of visits, one being the final Subway job, and then looked around the charity stores and found this Charly CD compilation for fifty pence - the same label that released the Wes Montgomery CD in 1993.

All the tracks are from Bethlehem Records that recorded Nina Simone's "My Baby Just Cares For Me".

Early A&R responsibilities were handled by a young Creed Taylor who went on to found his own CTI and Kudu record labels in the seventies and thus responsible for some of the best funky jazz fusion grooves of that period.

Time for some old R&B -

The Whammies - Double Whammy

The Kool Gents - Picture On The Wall

Billy Hamlin - If You Ain't Got No Bread (You Might As Well Stay Home In Bed)

Enjoy.
