Monday Musings
Dec. 2nd, 2019 10:08 pmA bright sunny morning that was interspersed with cloudier moments in the afternoon. A crisp cold snap permeated the air. Thus, I decided that a pleasant walk would be the ideal remedy for marshalling my thoughts.
I walked into town to post some books I sold on eBay over the weekend. I then popped into my local Spoons bar for a beer and fortuitously met Ewart there and we had a good chat. Three beers later I left the pub and did some food shopping and then caught a bus home.
I then snacked on chicken and mushroom carbonara with garlic bread and watched Only Connect and University Challenge.
In other words, a quiet day.

Monday Music Selection
Dec. 2nd, 2019 11:37 pmAnother mixed bag -
Plastic People of the Universe - Slavná nemesis (1979)
Often the music itself of this Czech underground prog band gets eclipsed by the whole political context. Both sides of the coin are fascinating, here's an extended dark chamber rock instrumental off of "Jak bude po smrti", one of my favourite pieces from them.
Josephine Foster - An Die Musik
An Die Musik, from the 2006 Josephine Foster album, A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing, featuring unorthodox interpretations of 19th century German Lieder.
Ute Lemper - Alabama Song
Ivor Cutler and Linda Hirst - Women Of The World
Ivor Cutler- I Worn My Elbows
Enjoy
