It’s nearly time for holly, old St. Nick, and all the other bits and bobs of the season. Pardon me if these are mostly aimed at Christmas, but it is the season to be jolly or whatever

.
1. Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas – which one do you use?

2. Do you own an ugly Christmas sweater?

3. Do you celebrate the Winter Solstice?

4. Now that you are ‘in the know,’ what would you leave out for St. Nick on the 24th?

5. Tired of the snow and icky weather yet? For those fortunate folks in the other hemisphere, are you tired of the humidity and hot weather?

Today is the shortest day signalling the fact that it is winter. However, today it felt like a mild spring day, with the temperature rising to 11 degrees C with a sunny morning and an intermittent afternoon of rain and sunshine till around four. I popped into town whilst it was dry and then got caught in a shower. I headed to see Kate and give her a Xmas card and sell some books, and then looked around the chazzers before having beer and lunch at my local Spoons pub.

And now some food porn. This is what I had today -

Turkey breast with stuffing, cranberry sauce, pigs in blankets, mashed potato and seasonal veg.

Warm cookie dough with ice cream.

All totally yummy!

I woke up with the fact that I have no work now until the new year, and I felt somewhat relieved and saddened at the same time. Most of the companies I work for have tooled down for the festive season and only some are still offering visits, such as Market Force, for this period before the New Year.

A couple of cheap CD's through Amazon arrived -

Eric Dolphy - Last Date (EmArcy)
Eric Dolphy - Music Matador (Fresh Sounds)

So, I will be listening to these tonight and over the weekend.
